In addition to serving as a monumental physical structure, Olcott hall of Mahinda College serves as a representation of multifarious aspects of life attributes of being a Mahindian. Olcott hall serves as the focal point of the teaching and learning process, extracurricular activities, and the entire Mahindian culture. It’s a part of every Mahindian’s soul.
The significance of this design is attributed to the reason that it represents a group of persons residing outside the country but who are still connected to Mahinda College through the power entrenched with the symbolic Olcott Hall. We still have strong ties to the school culture, even though we are no longer a part of our school.
To keep with concurrent design trends, a simple and minimalistic drawing of Olcott Hall appears on the symbol. Although Mahinda college is a 130 year old institution, the re-branded logo will follow modern design standards to show that Mahindians are a breed that keep abreast of the times whilst simultaneously respecting their age old traditions. Further it is symbolic that Mahindians are committed to fulfill their responsibilities to the college regardless of their country of residence.
