In the face of the devastating floods that recently impacted Sri Lanka, the Mahindians UAE community came together with a shared purpose: to provide hope, solidarity, and meaningful relief to our fellow citizens back home.
Through the collective generosity of our members, we are proud to announce that AED 4,000 was raised and fully utilized across two high-impact relief initiatives, ensuring timely and targeted assistance to affected communities.

The shortfall of LKR 2,880.20 was covered by the Mahindians UAE fund to ensure all commitments were honored in full.
Phase 1: Supporting the Junior OBA – “Mihindu Sahana Yathra”
Our first priority was to support relief efforts directly connected to our alma mater. On 1st December 2025, Mahindians UAE handed over essential goods and critical relief items valued at LKR 273,880.20 to the Junior Old Boys’ Association (OBA) of Mahinda College.
This contribution supported the final phase of the Mihindu Sahana Yathra project, which collectively delivered over LKR 20 million worth of aid to the Sri Lanka Army for distribution.
Areas Impacted:
Mahiyanganaya, Badulla, Peradeniya, Galle Four Gravets, Koggala Air Force Base, and surrounding regions.

Phase 2: “Tears to Smiles” – Collaborative Community Relief
Extending beyond our college network, Mahindians UAE proudly joined the wider Sri Lankan community in the UAE in the “Tears to Smiles” initiative, launched on 1st December 2025.
This project focused on an urgent and often overlooked need—clothing for flood-affected families in Anuradhapura, Matale, and Badulla.

As of 5th December, this UAE-wide initiative had reached 53% of its goal of 1,000 packs, and we are honored to have contributed toward this collective mission.
