Mahindians UAE is delighted to share the remarkable progress made in renovating the Mahinda College hostel kitchen, a project aimed at enhancing the living standards of our students and ensuring a healthier, more comfortable environment.
1️⃣ Initial Condition (Before Renovation):
The kitchen, once plagued by worn-out facilities, outdated appliances, and inadequate hygiene, was in dire need of an upgrade. Challenges included insufficient equipment and a lack of proper infrastructure, which affected the overall dining experience for our students.
2️⃣ Renovation Efforts:
The renovation process was comprehensive, focusing on creating a safe, efficient, and modern cooking environment. Key upgrades included:
- Replacing old, damaged appliances.
- Installing new countertops, sinks, and storage facilities.
- Enhancing ventilation to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Adding state-of-the-art cooking equipment for healthier meal preparation.
- Upgrading the interior with tiled floors, renovated walls, and updated electrical and plumbing systems.
3️⃣ Current Condition (After Renovation):
The results speak for themselves! The hostel kitchen has been transformed into a modern and functional space equipped with new facilities and an improved layout. Students now have access to a safe, clean, and efficient environment that supports their nutritional and well-being needs.

4️⃣ Future Maintenance and Support:
This project was made possible through the generous contributions of Mahindians UAE members, including a personal donation exceeding LKR 1 million from Mr. Ajantha Premarathna, President of Mahindians UAE. In total, Mahindians UAE invested nearly LKR 2.5 million in this renovation.
